Comprehensive biological restoration of a residential sewage treatment plant (STP) using high-performance bioculture solutions.
A large residential township located in Pune, Maharashtra, was facing recurring issues in its 250 KLD Sewage Treatment Plant (STP). The system suffered from poor MLSS development, excessive foaming, odour problems, and inconsistent BOD/COD levels. MotherEarth Biotech was engaged to restore and optimize the biological process using our flagship product SepTreat.
After an initial site survey and lab analysis, a custom bioremediation plan was implemented:
The project was executed over a period of four weeks, broken down as follows:
| Week | Activity | Outcome |
|---|---|---|
| Week 1 | Initial assessment, dosing start-up & aeration tuning | Noticeable reduction in foam; microbial growth stabilized |
| Week 2 | Full-scale dosing of SepTreat bioculture | Odour control achieved; improved sludge settleability |
| Week 3 | Process monitoring & MLSS adjustment | BOD reduced from 65 mg/L to 30 mg/L |
| Week 4 | System stabilization & training handover | Effluent quality achieved consistent compliance (<30 mg/L BOD) |
“Our STP was constantly underperforming despite frequent maintenance. After MotherEarth’s bioculture intervention, the system stabilized quickly, odour disappeared, and the treated water now meets all PCB norms.”
